Solar Monitoring Apps Compared: SolarEdge vs Enphase vs SolarDoctor
Every solar system comes with a monitoring app — SolarEdge has mySolarEdge, Enphase has Enlighten. But these apps have a fundamental limitation: they show you data without context.
What Inverter Apps Do Well
SolarEdge and Enphase apps show you real-time production data, historical charts, and panel-level monitoring. They're great for seeing how much energy your system produced today or this month.
The Missing Piece
What they don't tell you is whether that production number is good or bad. If your 6kW system produced 500 kWh last month, is that healthy? You'd need to cross-reference your location's solar irradiance data, adjust for season, panel tilt, and shading — every month. Nobody does that.
How SolarDoctor Is Different
SolarDoctor connects to your existing SolarEdge account and automatically compares your actual production to what your system should produce. Instead of raw numbers, you get a health score from 0 to 100. Green means healthy. Yellow means watch it. Red means take action.
Think of it this way: SolarEdge tells you your blood pressure numbers. SolarDoctor tells you whether those numbers mean you're healthy or need to see a doctor.
