Enphase Gateway Not Reporting: How to Get Back Online

If your Enphase Enlighten app shows "Gateway Not Reporting" or your system data has gone stale, your IQ Gateway (or older Envoy) has lost its internet connection. The good news: your solar system is almost certainly still producing power. The bad news: you're flying blind without monitoring data.

What the Gateway Does

Your IQ Gateway is the bridge between your microinverters and the cloud. It collects production data from each microinverter over your home's electrical wiring and sends it to Enphase's servers via your home internet connection. When that internet connection breaks, the data stops flowing — but the microinverters keep working independently.

Quick Fixes

  1. Check the Gateway LED lights. The top-right LED (Communications) should be solid green when connected to the internet. If it's not lit or is flashing, there's a network issue.
  2. Restart your router. Unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in, wait 5 minutes.
  3. Restart the Gateway. Unplug the Gateway from the wall, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in. Give it 15 minutes to reconnect.
  4. Check the ethernet cable. If your Gateway uses a wired connection, make sure the ethernet cable is firmly plugged into both the Gateway and your router.
  5. Check your router settings. Make sure DHCP is enabled and no MAC filtering is blocking the Gateway.

If Nothing Works

If you've restarted everything and the Gateway still won't connect, the Gateway itself may need replacement. Contact Enphase support — the Gateway has its own warranty separate from your microinverters.

The Real Risk of Losing Monitoring

Your system produces power without monitoring. But if a microinverter fails while your Gateway is offline, you have no way of knowing. By the time monitoring is restored and you discover the issue, weeks of production may have been lost. This is why keeping your Gateway online matters — it's your window into your solar investment's health.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Enphase Envoy/Gateway not reporting?

The gateway may have lost its internet connection (WiFi or Ethernet), lost power, or experienced a firmware issue. Check that the gateway has power and its LED indicators show normal status.

How do I reconnect my Enphase Envoy to WiFi?

Access the Envoy's local interface by connecting to its WiFi hotspot (AP mode), or connect a computer via Ethernet. Navigate to the network settings and re-enter your WiFi credentials. You can also use the Enphase Installer Toolkit app.

Does my Enphase system work if the gateway is offline?

Yes, your microinverters continue producing electricity even if the gateway is offline. The gateway is only needed for monitoring and communication — it doesn't control the microinverters' operation.
